Endcaped Φ2mm Quartz block at the end face of fiber is a good and low cost solution for decrease laser  power density, so that protect the fiber surface. 

On the surface of the end cap, a high damage threshold AR coating is coated, while on the other side of the  fiber, a high efficient cladding power stripper (CPS) is built, most important it's Epoxy uncoupled part of light which injected into cladding.
